SensorResolution, size and build. Stacked sensors read out fastest, which helps fast action and cuts rolling-shutter wobble.40.2MP · APS-C · BSI
Native ISOThe standard sensitivity range. Higher ISO lets you shoot in dimmer light, at the cost of more noise.125–12,800
ShutterFastest mechanical and electronic shutter speeds. The silent electronic shutter can freeze faster motion, but may bend fast subjects on slower sensors.1/4000 mech · 1/180000 elec
Flash syncThe fastest shutter speed you can use with a regular flash. Higher is better for flash outdoors in bright light.1/180 s
AutofocusWhat the camera recognises and tracks automatically, and how dark it can get before focus struggles (lower EV is better in low light).People, animals, birds, vehicles, aircraft, trains

Video

Max resolutionThe highest resolution and frame rate it records internally. More than 4K gives room to crop or stabilise in editing.6.2K 30p
Best 4K frame rateThe fastest 4K frame rate. 60p and above lets you slow footage down smoothly, and 120p gives 5× slow motion.4K 60p
Crop at 4K 60pWhether 4K 60p uses the full sensor width. A crop makes your lens act longer, so wide shots get harder.1.14x crop
Colour depth10-bit records far more colour detail than 8-bit, so footage holds up when you grade it. Worth it if you edit video.10-bit 4:2:2
Log profileA flat picture profile that keeps highlight and shadow detail for colour grading later.F-Log2
Raw videoRaw keeps the most image data for editing, at much larger file sizes. Some cameras only record it to an external recorder.RAW over HDMI (12-bit, 6.2K)
Open gateRecords the whole sensor area, so you can crop the same clip to both widescreen and vertical video. No
Audio jacksA mic input for better sound, and a headphone jack to check what you are recording.Mic only
HDMIFor an external monitor or recorder. Full-size HDMI is sturdier than micro HDMI.Micro
Cooling fanA built-in fan lets the camera record for long stretches without overheating. No

Body & handling

ViewfinderElectronic viewfinder resolution and magnification. More dots and a bigger magnification give a sharper, larger view.2.36M-dot, 0.62×
Rear screenFully articulating screens flip to the front for vlogging; tilting screens are quicker for photos at waist or overhead height.Tilting
Card slotsTwo slots let you record a backup copy at the same time, which matters for paid work like weddings.1x SD UHS-II

  • Get the stunning looks of the iconic FUJIFILM X100VI with the added creative flexibility of interchangeable lenses. A similar size and weight to the popular fixed lens X100VI, FUJIFILM X-E5 delivers the same analog controls and a film-camera-inspired user experience but gives you the option to switch lenses to suit your creative needs. X-E5 is compatible with over 40 X Mount optics and accessories, including the all-new XF23mmF2.8 R WR, so the perfect image is always within reach.
  • FUJIFILM X-E5 echoes the timeless style of rangefinder film cameras and features a stunning machined aluminum top-plate. Aesthetically beautiful, the top-plate exudes quality and durability thanks to its premium look and feel as well as delivering a precise, angular design. X-E5 offers analog controls for quick, easy access to core functions, while additional features such as the Bluetooth connectivity button - placed on the base like a film rewind button - enhance the camera’s nostalgic feel.
  • A first for X Series cameras, FUJIFILM X-E5 features a customizable Film Simulation dial. Neatly placed under the aluminum top-plate with a circular window providing an easy view of the active mode, the dial provides fast access to Fujifilm’s unique Film Simulation modes that deliver stunning results straight out of camera. Additionally, the dial has three customizable settings, which give users the option to create and save their own recipes for instant recall in the field.
  • Sometimes the best images are made when lighting is low and, thanks to the in-body image stabilization (IBIS) on FUJIFILM X-E5, you’ll be able to tackle these situations in complete confidence. Providing up to seven stops of benefit at the center of the frame and six stops at the edges, the IBIS system features a new algorithm and upgraded gyro sensor to deliver an improved performance that helps keep crucial images free from camera shake.
  • Image quality is assured with FUJIFILM X-E5 thanks to the latest 40.2-megapixel X-Trans 5 HR sensor and X-Processor 5 imaging engine. This combination brings additional functionality, including a lower base ISO of 125 and deep learning AI-powered subject detection AF across a broader range of subjects. The higher resolution also unlocks a two-step digital teleconverter feature, which crops into the sensor to provide a 1.4x or 2x zoom, giving further in camera flexibility.
